Cold Opener is a Chrome extension that generates personalized cold email opening lines. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

Data Collection

What We Collect

• Page Content (Temporary) - When you use Cold Opener, the extension temporarily reads visible page content to generate personalized openers. This data is NOT stored.
• API Key (Local) - Your OpenRouter API key is stored locally in your browser only.
• Usage Count (Local) - We track generation count locally for free tier limits.
• License Key (Local) - Paid license keys are stored locally in your browser.

What We DON'T Collect

• Browsing history
• Personal information
• Which profiles or websites you visit
• Scraped content (discarded after generation)
• Cookies or tracking pixels

Data Processing

When you generate openers:

1. Page content is extracted locally in your browser
2. Content is sent to OpenRouter's API (using YOUR API key)
3. AI generates openers
4. Results are displayed and discarded

The data sent to OpenRouter is subject to OpenRouter's privacy policy.

Third-Party Services

• OpenRouter - Processes AI requests using your API key
• LemonSqueezy - Validates license keys for paid users

Data Storage

All data is stored locally using Chrome's storage API. No external databases or servers are used by Cold Opener.

Your Rights

• Delete data - Uninstall the extension or clear browser data
• View data - Check chrome://extensions storage
• Opt out - Simply don't use the extension

• activeTab - Read current tab content
• storage - Store API key and usage data locally
• scripting - Inject content scripts
• host_permissions - Access websites for scraping
